A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Bats are the only mammals that can truly fly, and most of them rest hanging upside down. The Hanging Bat Plush keeps the tradition, wrapped up in its wings like a little cloak.

  • Real size — about 22 cm (8.7 in) long.
  • Wrapped in its wings — charcoal and light gray wings with stitched ribs fold around the body.
  • Fluffy round head — soft blue-gray fur and two big pointed ears.
  • Made to hang — hang it upside down from a car grab handle, a hook or a shelf.
  • Easy gift — for the bat fan who likes to see the world from a different angle.

What you get
One hanging bat plush.

Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Let it air dry.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
