A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Cats love a high lookout spot, which is why so many end up peeking down from the top of the fridge. The Peeking Cat Enamel Pin peeks over your jacket pocket instead.

  • Real size — the orange tabby and the tuxedo are about 2.7 cm (1.1 in) wide and 3 cm (1.2 in) tall; the calico is 3.5 cm (1.4 in) wide and 2.3 cm (0.9 in) tall.
  • Three cats — a smiling orange tabby, a grinning tuxedo cat, or a calico with one blue eye and one yellow eye, each with its paws resting on the edge.
  • Glossy enamel — bright enamel colors with thin metal outlines.
  • Pin it anywhere — jacket pockets, tote bags, backpack straps and lanyards.
  • Easy add-on — for the cat person in your life (or for you, no judgment).

What you get
One enamel pin with the cat you choose.

Care
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it away from water.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
