A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Real capybaras only have a tiny stub of a tail. The Wagging Capybara Keychain makes up for it: pull the little cord and its tail wags.

  • Two styles — Persimmon (a little orange persimmon on its head) or Bee (yellow stripes, antennae and tiny blue wings).
  • Pull-cord wiggle — tug the white cord and watch the tail go.
  • Chubby and fluffy — soft brown plush with a darker snout and sleepy closed eyes.
  • Easy gift — clip it to a backpack zipper, a tote handle or your keys.

What you get
One wagging capybara keychain in the style you choose.

Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth. Let it air dry.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
