A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Many Amazon tree frogs rarely come down to the ground. The Frog Bucket Hat lets one live on top of your head instead.

  • Cotton bucket hat — a rounded crown, a top button and a short stitched brim that shades your eyes.
  • Frog face — two padded frog eyes stand up on the crown above a wide embroidered smile.
  • Three colors — grass green, dusty pink, or black with a white smile.
  • One size — made for adult heads; check the size chart for the fit.
  • Easy gift — for festivals, park days and anyone who says “ribbit” unironically.

What you get
One frog bucket hat.

Care
Hand wash in cool water with mild soap, reshape and lay flat to dry.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
