A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

A capybara's front teeth never stop growing, so it grazes on grass all day to keep them trim. The capybaras on the Capybara Crew Socks skip the grass and just hang out.

  • Capybaras everywhere — little sitting capybaras with tiny orange fruits on their heads up the leg, and a grid of capybara portraits over the foot.
  • Classic crew cut — cream-white with a dark brown heel and toe and two thin taupe stripes at the cuff, reaching mid-calf.
  • One size — fits women's shoe sizes about US 5–8.5 (EU 35–40). See the size chart.
  • All-season pair — comfortable with sneakers, boots or just lounging at home.
  • Easy add-on gift — tuck a pair into a card, a gift bag or a stocking.

What you get
One pair of capybara crew socks.

Care
Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colors. Lay flat or hang to dry.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
