A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

In Japan, some zoo capybaras soak in warm baths with yuzu fruit floating around them. The Capybara Plush Backpack skips the bath and comes along for the day instead.

  • Three styles — Standing Capybara (a big fluffy capybara with a mandarin on its head), Square Flap (a boxy backpack with four stubby paws and tan straps) and Round Belly (a round backpack with a golden belly patch and a mandarin on top).
  • Soft plush all over — fluffy caramel-brown fur, a chocolate-brown snout and small sleepy eyes.
  • Worn on your back — made for everyday carry, a weekend market run or a day in the park.
  • Easy gift — for anyone who would rather be a capybara.

What you get
One capybara plush backpack in the style you choose.

Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Let it air dry. Do not machine wash.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
