A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Real capybaras talk to each other with purrs, whistles, clicks and barks. The Squeaky Capybara Keychain keeps it simple: give it a squeeze and it squeaks.

  • Soft and squishy — a round, chubby capybara in fluffy camel-brown plush with tiny ears and dark paw spots.
  • Hidden squeaker — squeeze its tummy for a little squeak.
  • Ready to hang — on a short bead chain for a bag, backpack or keys.
  • Small add-on — an easy extra for a capybara gift (or a treat for you).

What you get
One squeaky capybara keychain.

Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth and let it air dry. Do not soak or machine wash.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
