A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Ducklings follow the first moving thing they see after hatching. Wind up the Wind-Up Hopping Bird Toy, and that might be you.

  • Real size — about 9 cm (3.5 in) tall and 8 cm (3.1 in) long. Fits in one palm.
  • Wind it and watch it hop — turn the little key on its side and it hops across the table.
  • Two birds — a lemon-yellow duckling or a snow-white chick.
  • Fluffy and tiny — long soft fur, black bead eyes and little yellow plastic feet.
  • Desk break — a few seconds of hopping that always gets a smile.

What you get
One wind-up bird in the style you choose.

Care
Spot clean the fur with a damp cloth. Don’t over-wind the key, and never put it in water.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
