A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Capybaras are social animals that usually live in groups of about 10 to 20. The Wavy Capybara Mug keeps a few of them close at breakfast.

  • Real size — holds about 300 ml (10 oz).
  • Wavy ceramic — a glossy cream mug with a playful wavy rim and base.
  • Capybara on the handle — a tiny 3D capybara head sits on top of the caramel handle, right where your thumb goes.
  • Three designs — a capybara holding a little one, a capybara hugging a big tangerine, or a capybara lounging on a round white duck, each with CAPYBARA spelled out in chunky brown letters.
  • Easy gift — for the capybara fan in your life (or for you, no judgment).

What you get
One capybara mug in the design you choose.

Care
Hand wash with warm, soapy water, and go easy on the little capybara on the handle.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
