A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Capybaras are strong swimmers and can stay underwater for up to five minutes. The Capybara Steel Mug with Straw keeps things simpler: lid on, straw in, sip.

  • Real size — holds about 270 ml (9 oz); about 8.3 cm (3.3 in) tall and 8 cm (3.1 in) across.
  • Stainless steel — 316 stainless steel with a double wall and a smooth cream finish outside.
  • Lid and straw — a snap-on lid with a slim straw for sipping at your desk, plus an open loop handle.
  • Little capybara — a small cartoon capybara face with tiny paws on the front, with its name printed just above.
  • Easy gift — for the capybara fan in your life (or for you, no judgment).

What you get
One capybara mug with lid and straw.

Care
Hand wash the mug, lid and straw with warm, soapy water. Do not microwave.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
