A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Highland cows grow a long fringe, called a dossan, that keeps rain and flies out of their eyes. The Highland Cow Plush wears its fringe just as messy, minus the flies.

  • Real size — about 30 cm (11.8 in) tall, sitting. Big enough to hug, small enough for a shelf.
  • Long shaggy fur — a tousled fringe over small black eyes, a soft suede-like muzzle and little hooves peeking out.
  • Three colors — Brown (classic ginger with curved horns), Black (with a wild spiky tuft) or White (snowy and fluffy with a pale pink muzzle).
  • Easy gift — for the highland cow fan in your life (or for you, no judgment).

What you get
One highland cow plush in the color you choose.

Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Brush the fur gently with your fingers and let it air dry.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
