A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Real clownfish live tucked inside sea anemones, where bigger fish can't bother them. The Reef Animal Plush crew would rather be tucked into your bed.

  • Real size — the octopus is about 25 cm (9.8 in), the clownfish about 27 cm (10.6 in) and the sea turtle about 21 cm (8.3 in).
  • Three reef friends — a pale blue octopus with big glossy eyes, an orange clownfish with white stripes, or a sea turtle with a shaggy brown shell and lime green flippers.
  • Soft plush — smooth short plush all over, with a fluffy long-pile shell on the turtle.
  • Easy gift — for the ocean lover in your life (or for you, no judgment).

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
