A Projeto CAPA volunteer feeding wild capybaras by the Pinheiros River in São Paulo

Projeto CAPA

São Paulo, Brazil

Projeto CAPA watches over the wild capybaras of São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, freeing them from trash and keeping them safe. The fences they installed cut road deaths from 15 in 2023 to 1 in 2026.

How we help real animals
Description

Real capybaras are so calm that birds happily perch on their backs. The Christmas Capybara Plush is just as easygoing, and it dressed up for the holidays.

  • Real size — about 20–22 cm (7.9–8.7 in) tall. Just right for a shelf, a desk or the top of a gift pile.
  • Fluffy and festive — a chubby caramel-brown capybara with a big dark snout, sleepy eyes and a soft Christmas hat with a white brim and pompom.
  • Three styles — Snowman Friend (hugs a little snowman, with “Merry Christmas” stitched in gold on its Santa hat), Red Scarf (red Santa hat and a fringed red scarf) and Green Scarf (matching green Christmas hat and scarf).
  • Easy gift — a cozy Secret Santa or stocking pick for the capybara fan in your life.

What you get
One Christmas capybara plush, about 20–22 cm (7.9–8.7 in).

Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Let it air dry.

Meet Projeto CAPA

Along São Paulo’s Pinheiros River, Projeto CAPA looks after the capybaras who live right beside one of the city’s busiest roads. With their partner Belgo, they put up a protective fence along the riverbank, and it is working.
